Storage space can be a problematic issue for many homeowners. This is why houses are built with attic spaces. Most true attics today are only built as small crawl spaces meant to provide more storage space. Even though an attic is not considered an actual floor of the home, homeowners still need to be able to access them safely. This is why there are disappearing staircases that can fold up and retract when needed.
